Before engaging in any social media activity for your business, be sure to have a social media policy for employees in place. There are plenty of examples of very liberal and very restrictive policies available online, or give EAG a call for samples and guidance. Your approach to a social media policy will depend a great deal on your own culture, customer type and the product or service you provide. Think about this: Tonight a key employee goes home, logs on to Facebook and moans about a difficult customer – and mentions that customer by name. How will that impact your business? A well-documented, well-communicated policy will help tremendously.
